Maude Kern’s Art Center 23rd Annual Jello Art Show
April 3, 2010 One day only 5-8pm
Queen Anislugsia delivers the benediction at this year’s 23rd annual JELLO Art Show. THE JELLO SHOW includes the work of local artists, crafters, and competitive community members using the medium of JELLO. Each year features wacky JELLO creations, the annual Tacky Food Buffet, and HRH the SLUG Queen–of course! No other medium quite captures our sentimental adoration of slime like JELLO. The JELLO Art Show annually occurs on the Saturday closest to April 1st (April Fool’s Day) as a rule.
To submit your own jello artwork, bring your jello creation to Maude Kern’s Art Center on the day of the Jello Art Show, Saturday, April 3, between 3:00 and 4:30 pm. The theme for this year’s show has not been announced yet. There is a $3 entry fee per piece. Contributions to the Tacky Food Buffet, featuring edible jello delicacies, are also welcome. Click Here to see JELLO creations from the show themed “Jello A-Go-Go!”
4th Annual DeLuxe Fashion Show
Yeah…we know what you are thinking…Eugene? Fashion Show? You’re kidding right? Well leave your tie dyed tees at home if you venture out for this evening of harcore fashionistaism. Eugene’s counter culture reputation has recently exploded a bevy of uber creative clothing designers eager to see and be seen. Created and organized by Designer Mitra Chester, owner of DeLuxe (the hub of Eugene’s creative clothing), this event tripled in size in it’s first two years and has been a sold out, standing room only affair. Last year Chester packed the Wheeler pavilion with designers, models, paparazzi and a crowd hungry for wearable art.
